Act NOW to Safeguard Your Personal Data

Recently, the credit agency Equifax announced that it suffered a data breach that could affect 143 million U.S. consumers.

This hack exposed names, Social Security numbers, addresses, birth dates, and driver’s license numbers—all critical pieces of information used by identity thieves to impersonate people, obtain credit cards and conduct fraud. This is likely the largest data breach ever as nearly all U.S. adults have their credit histories with Equifax, Experian and Transunion.

IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU ACT IMMEDIATELY TO SAFEGUARD YOUR PERSONAL DATA.

Please take a few minutes now to protect and safeguard your critical personal identifying information.
Freeze your credit today!

This is urgent and imperative! Please freeze your credit immediately at each of the three credit bureaus.
A security freeze, also called a credit freeze, locks your credit file at each bureau with a special PIN that only you know. That PIN must be used in order for anyone to access your credit file, or add new credit in your name.

Do Not Monitor Your credit - FREEZE IT!

Credit bureaus recommend “credit monitoring,” a useless and ineffective service that charges you money to tell you when your open credit file has been accessed.
A security freeze is the only way for you to have complete control of your credit file. Unlike credit monitoring or fraud alerts, a freeze stops identity theft from happening rather than alerting you after a potential credit fraud has happened.

How do I do this?

You must contact all three of the credit bureaus individually. This process can be done online or over the phone. This whole process only takes a few minutes during which you will be asked some questions to confirm your identity.
You can freeze your credit by calling the numbers below:

Equifax: (866) 349-5191 option #3 or 1-800-685-1111 – www.equifax.com

Experian: (888) 397-3742

Transunion: (888) 909-8872

Depending on where you live, freezing your credit files can cost anywhere from $0 to $10 with each credit bureau. If you need to lift the freeze you will have to pay the same fee.
